That distinguishes it from a simple screenshot approach — the content is genuinely re-typeset by your browser's own layout engine, the same one that renders every webpage you visit, rather than photographed at whatever resolution Word happened to render it at.
After the HTML is generated, you get a live, paginated preview before anything is finalized. Because the preview uses the exact same rendering pipeline that produces the final PDF, what you see genuinely is what you get — there's no separate "export" step that might reflow things differently. That HTML is injected into a hidden iframe alongside CSS that simulates the selected page dimensions and margins, and the preview renders in real time using your browser's own layout engine — the identical rendering path used for the final output, so the preview is not a rough approximation. When you click "Convert to PDF", the tool injects a CSS @page rule specifying your chosen page size and margins, then calls window.print() on the iframe, which hands control to your browser's native print-to-PDF engine. Selecting "Save as PDF" (or "Microsoft Print to PDF" on Windows) in the resulting print dialog produces a properly paginated, print-ready PDF file with zero server involvement at any stage.
